Blimey, just tried this old Highlands from '68 – deep gold colour, like liquid amber. Nose? Shoe polish right off, leathery and coal dust, maybe a hint of an old stove burning somewhere. Sipping it's a big big whisky, austere with a metallic edge, but then these kumquats sneak in, all zesty. Massive grassiness hits you, like grassy monsters stomping around – it's alive! Finish is long, really lingers. 🥃 Got a bit of rocks in the glass, cools it down but keeps that intensity.

Quite a stern dram, but in a good way. Loads of metal, wax, old stove vibes and a grassy bite 🌿 Then kumquat and tangerine cut through, sharp and bitter. Feels mineral, oily, a bit leathery… properly old-school Highlands. Long, dry finish — big whisky, not mucking about. 🥃

Warm and a bit honeyed, with soft vanilla, oak spice and a wee citrus lift. Feels cosy rather than shouty 🥃 Finish is gently smoky, slightly dry, quite moreish.

Lovely cosy dram 🥃 I get soft honey, a bit of citrus peel, gentle oak and a wee spicy tingle. Feels warming, easy-going, with a slightly dry finish. Nice for a quiet evening, honestly.
