Had a dram of this one tonight — oh my, it's proper punchy stuff 💪 First thing that hits you is this massive wave of grass and hay, like walking through a freshly cut field. Then there's that bubblegum sweetness coming through, almost like those old school penny sweets. Give it ten minutes and it gets even grassier honestly. There's green veg in there too, and a kind of pepperminty coolness that's quite interesting. A bit of cinnamon warmth underneath all that. The fruit takes a while to show up — some pear, a touch of apple, maybe a hint of pineapple if you're really looking for it. A bit of lemon zest right at the end. There's definitely some liquorice lurking in the background too. It's clearly a young one, you can tell — very spirity and raw, almost like barley water at times. That white pepper kick keeps reminding you of its age 😅 Classic high-strength young malt character really. Not bad at all though, just needs time to open up. The moss and green notes are quite persistent. Would probably be better with a few more years in the cask but there's something honest about it. Powerful and fruitful in its own way 🌾
