Right, so this one’s got a properly fatter nose straight off – it sort of pads up at you softly. Lots of well-defined fruits, mind, not just a vague fruitiness. The icing sugar dusting comes through, almost like those jelly babies sweets, all powdery and sweet. Vanilla too, but really clean, almost citrus drops drifting in and out. Lemon, definitely lemon, then a flash of mango that’s just a tiny tad too sweet for me, leaning into that all-vitamin fruit juice vibe. It’s upper-echelon grain whisky, no doubt – brought up very well. But it’s slipping a little closer to malt, properly pretty malty actually, deeper than that of the blend you’d chuck in a mixer. Almost gold in how it sits, bright but richer. Feels fruity through and through, with that malt whisper making it dangerously easy to keep sippin’. Proper excellent drop, just shy of perfect balance for my tooth, but I’m not complainin’.
