Right, this is a lovely wee dram. On the nose I’m getting soft green fruits, white stone fruits like peach skin, and an elegantly honeyed sweetness – nah, not cloying at all. Wee notes of canvass, a bit of damp hessian, moss, and wet rocks… almost like a sea breeze without the salt, lightly coastal. A touch of olive oil and putty too, waxy canvass coming through, plus a herbal lift – mint, eucalyptus, and a whisper of rolling tobacco. On the sip, it lands lightly salty, then the mouthfeel just turns nicely rich and honeyed, really coats things. As it sits, the texture becomes fatter and oilier, lovely. I’m getting mashed root vegetables baked with honey, a flick of bergamot, maybe lemon cough drops (the nostalgic kind), and a proper umami backbone, almost like olive oil drizzled over veg. Then it shifts leafier, with sandalwood and that canvass note lingering. The finish becomes drier, good length, with a minty echo. Pretty charming stuff – an excellent and charismatic wee dram, proper character. 🥃
