Nose: Right off, gettin' hit with a big whiff of green apples and fresh pears 🍏. Then comes this warm, cozy smell... like cinnamon sticks and a bit of honey. After a minute or so, there's a gentle puff of smoke, not a bonfire, more like a distant campfire. Smells proper autumnal, that.
Palate: First sip is all about the fruit - those apples again, maybe a bit of orange peel now. It's got a lovely creamy, slightly waxy texture, coats the tongue nicely. Then the spices kick in, nutmeg and a touch of black pepper, but it's not aggressive. There's a definite caramel sweetness in there too, balancing it all out.
Finish: Long and warming, that. The smoke comes back, just a whisper of peat, and leaves you with this pleasant dried fruit and dark chocolatey aftertaste. Sits in the chest like a hug. Very moorish. 🥃
