Just cracked this open and straight away it’s like a basket full of citrus fruits tipped onto the table—oranges, lemon zests, even a whiff of apple peelings. Smells proper breakfasty, almost like a fresh fruit salad with a sprig of mint and a dusty little cardamom pod tucked in the bowl. First sip and it’s fresher than I expected, terrific whisky, reminds me oddly of a really good chenin blanc, that same zippy, green, rounder feel. Same notes keep dancing about: great zestiness, a handful of herbs, a tiny bit of soot, maybe a whisper of dry white wine. Finish is long, moves from all that citrus gold into a soft coffee and nutty warmth. Sweeter on the way out, with those peelings lingering. 👌 Absolute cracker for a sunny afternoon.
