Right, here we go. Just nosed this one, and blimey.
👃 Got a proper waft of stewed orchard fruits—think baked apples & pears drizzled with honey. Then there’s this whisper of sea salt and a soft, almost earthy peat smoke, like a bonfire that’s been dampened by coastal mist. Tiny hint of vanilla pod and demerara sugar too.
👅 Ooft. That first sip coats the tongue with an oily, rich texture. Dried figs, a bit of dark toffee, and then a warm wave of baking spice—cinnamon, maybe a touch of clove. There’s a nuttiness in the background, almondy. The peat is gentle here, more like smouldering herbs than a punch.
🌬️ The finish hangs about for ages, all coastal brine and gentle oak char. A little pepper tingle, then it fades into a cosy, malty sweetness.
Honestly, just a proper comfort dram. No rough edges, just layers that keep unfolding. Would happily sit by a rainy window with this. 👍
