Right, so first sniff is just straight peat smoke. Not subtle at all, like a chimney sweep's handkerchief. There's a bit of coal smoke in there too, sort of heavy and dark. Tasting it... weirdly lovely. It's got this really good body, thick and oily. And then lemons come through, but not fresh zest—more like that posh lemon-flavoured olive oil you drizzle on salads. Brine, massive olive brine, almost like sipping the juice from a jar of Kalamatas. Gets quite earthy, a bit of dirt on the finish, in a nice way. Then after you swallow, that lemony peat just hangs around. And there's a little sweet kick, like those soft liquorice rolls you get in a pick-and-mix. Finish is quite long, salty and smoky, leaves your mouth feeling like you've been stood on a harbour wall in the drizzle. 😂 Crackin' dram.
