Poured a dram of this tonight, gorgeous dark amber colour in the glass. Blimey, it's immensely chocolaty! Reminds me of digging through those old tin boxes full of chocolate-coated prunes my nan had. It's really coating on the palate, and you can absolutely feel the oak—proper extractive stuff. It gets a bit fruitier as it warms up, like artisan Panettone, blackberry jam, and crystallised oranges. Even get a bit of honeyed kumquats and spicy raisins, with a tiny hint of sweet curry. Much easier to drink than I expected. That long finish just leaves you with pure cocoa. Feels like some proper blending technology went into this, absolute treat. 🥃
